Chapter 1 Basic Techniques

 |
(5) Handling Letters
- In order to work with each character of the text do the followings
- write a text on the stage
- Break it (press just once CTRL+B or use Flash's menu)
- right click on each character and convert them to Symbols
- select all the Movie Clip, right click and select Distribute to Layers
- now you have each character as a Movie Clip on a different layer
- feel free to animate the character or check out our example
- we created a Motion Tween for every character, one after another , transition between a squeezed character(with right click-Free Transform) and it's actual form
- after all the character come into place we can use the text in its original appearance witch we place in the same place as the text formed by the characters because we can work easier with it (if we don't need to work with characters any more as we did in our example)
Please take in consideration our next advices:
- don't forget so save an instance of the text before you break it
- check out the picture and the source file in order to better understand this example
